Looking for a lifestyle change? Want to work in Cooma?
You have come to the right page!
This is a page to tempt, entice and attract other like minded Doctors to come and work in Cooma with us.
Why move here? Basically because you want to do work that matters in a great environment with people who love what they do in a great place.
Four weeks holiday not enough? Take eight, that’s on top of a day off each week. That’s 84 days a year to recharge!
Want a variety of work? We do obstetrics, anesthetics and hospital work. You don't have to do these things but if you work here we can give you 100% cover and back up while you need it.
We have great patients who really appreciate the work we do. We have Doctors 11 Doctors who work a variety of hours to suit their needs. What, a practice with 11 Doctors in the country?? That’s right, we can cover holidays, patients can get an appointment within days or a short consult on the day. We start seeing patients anywhere from 9am - 10am in the morning up until 5:30pm.
When we go to rural doctor conferences and hear other doctors talk about how depressed they are, how they would never let their kids do medicine, we can’t understand it. Why work from 7am to 8pm every day? We believe that if Doctors are happy they will stay in town and keep working, and most do.
We are a teaching practice, so we usually have Medical Students and Registrars here. We also participate in the training program for Post Grads who do a 13-14 week rotation placement with us out of Canberra Hospital.
If you are a GP registrar looking for a great training practice, let us know. In the last 10 years we have had a lot of success with our Registrars, one topped NSW and another got the top mark in Australia in her exam.
We are lucky enough to have another group practice in town. They also have 11 Doctors and between us we can cover the needs of the hospital and the community.
Having said this, there is still an unmet need for more Doctors. If you come to work here, you wont be bored or sitting around.
